The increasing threat of Greece’s Neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party is punctuated by their violent acts against political opponents, immigrants and others. The Greek government and Police have shown their sympathy with Golden Dawn by persecuting journalists who speak out against them and people who show public opposition to their fascism. This video aims to communicate the underlying tension of these forces by using images to contrast the way Greece appears on the surface with voiceover by an anonymous anti-fascist motorcycle patroller who, as reported by the Guardian UK, was one of 15 people arrested and tortured by police for participating in a motor cycle demonstration against Golden Dawn.

Produced, Filmed and Edited by Chris Spannos
Music by Godspeed You! Black Emperor, song: “Strung Like Lights at Thee Printemps Erable”

This video is produced by The New Significance to help raise money for those 15 anti-fascists who were arrested and tortured. They have already paid for their legal fees amounting to € 15,000. But now they need your help to raise € 45,000 (USD $58,311.00) more to cover the guarantees in order to stay out of jail.

The international press have reported extensively on their important case and the rising threat of the Neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party in Greece (links below). News has spread that Golden Dawn has recently tried to open offices in the U.S., Canada and Australia. The Greek anti-fascists need your support to raise € 3,000 each, which amounts to five or six times the average monthly wage in their country. Fundraisers and concerts are being organized in Greece to help them. But they need your support too. Help fight against Golden Dawn by supporting those struggling against this fascist movement at it’s root in Greece.
